The deluxe special-edition auction catalogue showcases iconic looks from the private wardrobe of Dame Vivienne Westwood, with the earliest dating back to the ‘Witches’ Collection for Autumn/Winter 1983. This historically and culturally significant collection has been meticulously documented in this auction catalogue, which includes garments, jewellery and accessories created by the eponymously named fashion house and worn by the revolutionary fashion designer in the last four decades of her life. The catalogue will also include THE BIG PICTURE – Vivienne’s Playing Cards: Collect the cards. Connect the cards, a portfolio of ten powerful graphic prints which Vivienne Westwood conceived during the last weeks of her life. A project by The Vivienne Foundation, the prints derive from a pack of playing cards, Dame Vivienne designed in 2017 as ‘A Strategy 2 Save the World’ — a blueprint for the preservation of the planet, infused with her rallying cry, ‘Collect the cards. Connect the cards.’ The prints poignantly shed light on pressing issues facing humankind, such as climate change, social inequality and human rights — concerns that remained at the forefront of Dame Vivienne’s mind until her death in 2022.
